Ashtyn

Ashtyn started preschool at Grace Luthern on September 6, 2011.  I was very worried about how she would do in school.  She is not one to listen very well.  She went into class without any problems.  The next day, she started crying becasue she didn't understand why she couldn't go back!  After talking to her teacher, she said Ashtyn is doing very well.  She has recieved the name "little helper" in class. She is quick to help the other students out in class.  I think she is like this becasue she has a big sister who helps her out a lot.  Finally, today I asked her if she had friends at school.  She said, "Yes!" When I asked her what their names were, she said Bashful, Smoothie, Applesauce, and Nemo.  I then told her there was no way that was their names...her reply, "I know, I just can't remember!"  Our little girl is growing and is crazy as ever!

Twas the Night Before Kindergarten

8-15-11

Tonight, I read Ellie the book, "Twas the Night Before Kindergarten".  I am a nervous wreck !  I have been crying off and on for days.  I was talking to her tonight and she told me she was a little nervous.  I told her that she was going to have an Awesome teacher!  I told Ellie that her teacher would teach  her how to read and she said," Oh wow I am going to be a reader!"  I can't believe my little Ellie is going into K.   She is growing up before my eyes and I can't wait until tomorrow when she gets to tell me all about it!

Marathon

My dad ran in his first marathon this weekend.  He ran 26 miles in under 6 hours!  The girls were able to run the last 2 blocks with them.  It was so precious.  They were so excited.  We are so proud of him!
I know it is hard to see, but the kids ran across the finish line with him!

The Royal Wedding

So I have been obsessed with the Royal wedding.  I had recorded the wedding and watched it with them.  They were loving it.  I asked Ellie if she knew who the people on the  TV were.  She said it was Prince Willie and Prince Harry and Prince Willie was getting married.  After I laughed, I asked her who told her that and she said her grams.  So funny!  I loved that I got to share this with my little ones.

MIA

I know people are probably wondering if I have stopped blogging all together.  The answer is no!  I have been dealing with sick children for almost 1 month now.  Ellie was sick for 14 days with the flu and then she got pneumonia.  We had one week off and then Ashtyn got the flu.  It has been horrible for me!  I have had to sleep with both the kids when they were sick because they are up all night.  They have fevers and coughs that can't be controlled.  I am on the verge of loosing my mind!  So I do not have any pictures or activities that we have done for a month because we have been in our home!  More to come later......

Poor Ellie

Poor Ellie has the flu!  She has been sick for over a week.  We thought she was feeling better, but today she started a fever again.  She has been fever free for 4 days!  She went down for a nap at 3 and woke up with a 103 degree fever at 5.  I am so tired of kids being sick, but I know she is even more tired of being sick.  Please pray she gets better soon and stays out of the hospital!

The Bieber Fever

Ashtyn is obsessed with Justin Bieber.  I don't know why or how she loves him, but she does.  She was sitting on the couch tonight telling Carl how she was going to marry Justin Bieber and how he was sooo precious.  He is even coming to her birthday party.  The other day we were in the mall and there was a Justin Bieber cardboard figure in Sam Goody.  She walked by it, stopped and kept staring at it.  She loves him so much!  She even told me she want me to get her a new JB shirt.  Is this girl serious!?!?!?

The Girls

It has been FOREVER since I had posted something!  Life has been a little crazy around here for me.  I just want to post a few thing about the girls before I forget.
Ashtyn-  Ashtyn still wants me to put her in her bed every night.  I started lying down next to her on the floor and I have fell asleep two nights in a row!  Last night, I was sleeping  on the floor and Ashtyn gave me her blanket and got herself another.  I thought that was so sweet.  Sometimes under her crazy, hard exterior, she is so lovable!  Ashtyn loves to sing.  She has been grabbing her Hannah Montana guitar and sings...sings...sings!  Her favorite artist right now is Train (Hey, Soul Sister and Will You Marry Me?)  I love how she knows most of the lyrics and takes her singing very seriously.  Ashtyn has been playing very well with Ellie.  She really looks up to her and wants to be like her.  I think it is so sweet how she wants to tell her goodnight and always looks for her!
Ellie-  Ellie is getting so  big!  She is doing a really good job at school and  loves to learn.  Ellie is so independent.  The things she comes up with is CrAzY.  She talks like she is 10 years old.  She is growing up right before my eyes.  Ellie is a great big sister.  She takes care of Ashtyn and loves playing with her.  It amazes me how they can use their imagination and play forever!  Ellie loves to do silly dances and build or create things.  She is always wanting to do art projects.  Ellie is still playing the piano and glued to the TV;)
Both girls are into Barbies and love watching 12 Dancing Barbies (they ALWAYS put on a dress and twirl around) so cute!
The girls are happy and healthy and looking forward to their birthday at SIGS!

Ashtyn

Well....the trouble continues with my little Ashtyn and her sleeping situation.  Carl and I decided (well I made him do it) to take turns every night to put her asleep.  Every night when it is Carl's turn...she cries for me.  She calls my name (while she is crying hysterically).  She tells Carl she wants me and she doesn't give up.  It breaks my heart.  I have been thinking a lot lately about my kids and how fast they are growing.  Like any other mother...I get so weepy thinking about them.  I have came to the conclusion, I am going to suck it up and put Ashtyn to bed every night.  It might take me 30 min or so, but I should really cherish every second I have with them.  Soon she won't be asking me to stay with her she will be kicking me out!  So for now, I will sit by her side and just rub her back and think about how much I love her and how she has done nothing but make my life better than it already was!

Ellie is 5

Ellie is now 5 years old!  It seems like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant....then having a baby!
Facts about Ellie
Ellie is in Preschool.  She has made leaps and bounds in schools (especially socially).  She takes piano lessons and did a little gymnastics.  She wants mommy to sign her up for dance lessons.  She loves stuffed animals and is very smart .  She can count over 100, knows her letters and sounds.  She loves her baby sister and does what she can to be a role model for her sis.  She loves to eat chicken nuggets, pizza, spaghetti, and of course anything that is sweet!  We love you Ellie Grace and I can't imagine taking you to your first class of Kindergarten let alone watching you graduate high school. You are one very special girl!

Sisterly Love
I told Ellie that I would take her out for her birthday to get her nails done.  I took her to a nail shop down the street from the house.  I was going to take her by herself to have a "special" day, but she thought it would be fun to take her sister.  What can I say...I love my girls.  They got their nails done while I took the pictures.  Ellie was talking to the lady like she was her best friend.  It was so funny....she is usually my shy one.  Ashtyn was quiet the whole time.  She sat there quietly and patiently.  It was so much fun.  I am so glad my little girls love doing things with each other and their mommy. I am so blessed to have them in my life.........my life with girls is complete (who knows maybe we can squeeze another little one in there ; )!

Christmas

This year was a very busy year for us and to add to it...Christmas!  We had to shop, shop, shop, wrap presents, get Xmas decorations up, have a Christmas Eve party, and Christmas day party here!  On top of that...the house had to be ready for Santa!!  All I can say is I am trying to recover now!  Well the kids had a super holiday and as you will see in the pictures, Santa must have thought so too!  He brought plenty of gifts to fill the basement!  We did a lot of entertaining and traveling, but we had so much fun doing it!  Here's to Christmas 2010 and everything that it means!  We are a very blessed family!

Randoms for 2010

Remembering 2010

When I look back on 2010, I think of how much my little girls have grown.

Ellie-
Ellie went to 4 year old preschool. Her teacher is Mrs. Litkenhouse. She has a lot of friends and loves going to school. She loves to do anything that has to deal with learning. She can count over 100 and knows all her colors, letters, sounds, and even how to sound out words. She is such a laid back little girl. She is so sweet and loves her family. She is a good big sister. She loves to just sit at home and watch movies and this year she is into Barbies, babies, and coloring. She started piano lessons and loves it! Her teacher said she is very smart and is catching on quickly. She loves all of her stuffed animals and probably sleeps with 20 of them at night. She is so excited about the new house and I can't believe she will be going into Kindergarten in 2011. My baby will be 5!

Ashtyn-
Ashtyn is our little spit fire.  She is very active and has her own personality.  She is starting to like watching movies, play with dolls, barbies, and anything she can do outside.  She loves her mommy and wants to do everything with her.  She loves her sister so much! She wants to be just like her.  She copies everything she does and doesn't want to share her with anyone else.  She even cries if her sister is playing with someone else.  She loves dipping her food especially in ranch.  She loves chewing gum (even though we fight her with it every time.)  She has been sleeping in her bed, but we still have a hard time getting her to fall asleep. Ashtyn can count to 20 (not correct every time), knows her colors, and can spell part of her name.  Ashtyn will start preschool in 2011.  She will be 3!

New Year 2011

Best Friends!

Mitch looks Happy!

This year Carl and I decided to have a New Years Eve party with kids.  The kids celebrated with us last year and it was a lot of fun!  This year we decided to have the kids there again and invite all of our Awesome friends!  We had a great time.  The kids came over and played, played, played!  The mothers sat around and talked and the dads watched TV and played some cards.  At about 11 we put a movie in to get everyone calmed down.  Everyone enjoyed watching Beauty and the Beast (especially the dads ;)  We then had a little parade and got ready for the ball to drop.  Carl bought confetti for the kids and let me tell you...they loved it!  It was a great night for all!

Ugly Sweater Party

Brit and Bill had an Ugly sweater party and we took the girls.  Of course....they loved it.  It was a great time and I loved hanging with great friends.  The only picture I took was of Kaidyn and Ellie and I must say it is super precious!  Thanks guys for hosting another great party!  Can't wait until you are in your new home!

Christmas Trees

We moved into our house 2 weeks before Christmas.  Lets just say it has been nothing but CRAZY around here.  I didn't want to put anything Christmas up until everything was unpacked.  Well.....I don't know what I was thinking because it was taking forever to unpack, get Christmas gifts, wrap them, etc.  The custodian I work with, Phyllis, got on me and told me to stop what I was doing and the get the trees up for my babies.  She said the would only be young once.  She was right.  I went home and put the tree up the next day.  I also put a tree up in the girls room this year.  They loved it.  Each tree matched the color of their room.  They even put up our bear tree in the kitchen.  They love the holidays and it is such a joy watching my little ones grow up.

Dress Up

Ashtyn was downstairs looking at her toys and found this outfit.  It was Ellie's Halloween costume when she was two.  Ashtyn is much bigger than Ellie was at 2 so this was a hard to put on her and take off.  She loved it though!

New House

We are finally in our new house and loving it!  It has so much room and even more room to grow.  It has been a crazy three weeks and I haven't been able to blog about it at all.  The girls love it so much.  They don't even want to leave.  All they want to do is play with all the things they have been without!  We have had so much going on that I have been busy all of break!  We are finally unpacked (except 1 storage space).  We need to get so many things for the house and it is going to be hard trying to refrain and not just go out and get everything!
