Close Call

Today little Ashtyn had a close call in the bedroom.  She tried climbing up the dresser and it fell on top of her.  It was so scary!  I couldn't even see her. Thank goodness no one else got hurt and she walked away with a small scratch on her ankle.  God was looking out for my little monkey today and I am sure I will be having nightmares for years to come!

Imagination Station

Today we went up to Madison to see my friend Brooke and her kids (Chloe and Cohen).  Brooke took us to the Imagination Station. The kids had a blast.  They were able to play puppets, dress up, climb, run, jump, and act like a fool.  They loved it and I thought they played really well together.  Her kids are very sweet and we had a blast.  After Imagination Station, we took the kids to Gatti Land and ate pizza before the drive home.  We had a good time and we don't go up there enough!

Professional

We were riding in the car and Ellie asked me the question, "Why do I wear panties to bed and not a diaper?"  I told her she was a big girl.......no, no, I'm a professional!  I guess you can be a professional at peeing on the potty! 

Back Seat Conversation

I decided to try to post as many "little" conversations as I could remember (there are so many in a day).  These girls are hilarious.  I love how they talk to each other and have little adult conversations when they think no one is listening.  Today, we went to visit my friend in Madison.  On the way home, the kids starting talking to each other.  Ellie told Ashtyn we really needed to buy her a TV for her bedroom (like she was going to be the one to go buy it).  Ashtyn shook her head and fully agreed with her.  Then Ellie told her she also needed to get her ears pieced, but she had to be 4 just like her.  Then she told her she also needed a new bed.  After Ashtyn fully agreed with her, she then let me into the conversation.  Mom (in a serious voice), we need to get Ashtyn a new bed, TV and get her ears pieced (Ashtyn repeating every word).  All I could do is agree!

Scratch My Back!

Ellie was watching a movie (Wizard of Oz) when she suddenly stood up, walked over to me, and asked me to scratch her back.  I lifted up her shirt and started to scratch.  She then started saying...up mom....down...a little lower.....to the right....harder....good job mom.....oh wait, to the left...no the other way......I mean really!?!?  High maintenance!  Gotta love her!

Daddy Where Are You?

This morning we could hear Ashtyn on the monitor yelling, "Daddy where are you?"  Carl jumped out of bed at 4 am and rushed to her room.  On the monitor, I could hear her telling her daddy that she doesn't sleep in her bed she sleeps in Daddy's bed and she wanted him to hold her.  When he brought her in bed, she found me and of course I was her first choice.  It was so sad hearing her call out his name.  She sounded so scared.  I bet she was having a dream because usually she just gets up and comes to our room.  The saddest part of it all for me is that she could have a big girl conversation and it all made sense.  She is getting so big and it makes me so sad (oh yeah and the fact that she will probably never sleep in her own bed)!

Pool Day and Play Date

Today was a fun day.  We went to Meg's pool.  Ellie hung out around the edge and Ashtyn had a good time jumping in the water.  Ellie wants to take swimming lessons so she can swim around the pool without a float.  We always have fun at the pool.  The girls took turns with Riley jumping in the pool.  I had to finally put a stop to the jumping for a bit because I was tired.  We closed the day with a little McDonald's.  The kids love chicken nuggets.  Ellie loves using ketchup and Ashtyn loves her ranch.
After the pool, we went to Landon's house.  The kids played so well together.  Landon is a hoot.  He showed Ellie how to play the Wii and she loved it!  They were playing around on the ground and Ashtyn was sitting in the background watching the two play.  That was funny since Ashtyn is usually the one in charge!
They kids closed the night going to Tumbleweed with Papaw and Grandma.  They are sleeping hard tonight!

Progress

Ashtyn is doing well with potty training.  She only had one accident today and used the potty all day long!  We even ran around today.   Ashtyn asked to go to "The Walmart" to get a present for doing such a good job.  She picked out a pink baby doll and named it, Gia.  She loves the name Gia.  She names all her baby dolls Gia.  Ellie tried to get her to name it something else, but she wouldn't do it.  It was so hard for me not to buy anything for Ellie.  Carl explained to her that it was a special day for Ashtyn and she couldn't get something (that was hard for me).   

Tonight we drove out to the new subdivision to see if they did anything to "the land" (that's what the girls call it).  They put down the gravel and looks like they may start the new house soon.  I don't think the girls realize that they are going to have to move out of their Lolo and Lola's house.  It's fun times .......... all the time over here!

On the Potty

Ashtyn is a big girl now. She wants to be potty trained. She is actually doing a very good job. She knows when to tell me it's time to get on! She loved getting the positive praise from Ate (Ellie). Ellie is such a good big sister. She motivates her and even helps her get on. I am so proud of her. She is very stubborn and I thought it would take her awhile, but she is catching on quickly. She even argues with me when I try to put a diaper on her for nap time. Today we went to the mall to pick up daddy's birthday gift and forgot she didn't have a diaper on. We didn't even have a diaper bag (bad habit). When we were walking through the shoe store, she told me she had to go. I totally forgot she didn't have a diaper. We raced to the restroom and we made it! We are super proud of her!

Holiday World

We had so much fun at Holiday World on Sunday. We were able to ride a lot of rides in the park as well as play in the splash park. Next year will be so much better for us because we will be bigger. Even though we were able to do so much, we still were a few inches shorter than we needed to be. Ellie loved the wave pool. She would have stayed there the whole day. Ashtyn and Brady loved the big kids water area. They rode the slide over and over again. We had a blast and can't wait until we go back! Next time, we are staying for 2 days and maybe we will camp! Ellie was a big girl and rode her first roller coaster. She rode it six time and wanted to ride it some more. Mommy thought it was a little rough for a 4 year old, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I wasn't even scared! Brady and Ashytn were just a couple inches short, but they were ready to hop right on. I'm glad we were able to go and have a good time. Even without a nap...we kept going!

It's About Time!

So, I finally decided to make a blog for my precious girls. I should have done this long ago, but finally decided to put one together (thanks to Cara and Brittney). I will start with what we did today, but might jump back to the past a little since I have a lot of catching up to do. Today, we went to Meg's pool. We always have fun with our friends. We played around and ate some pizza. I attached some pictures ....so you could be part of the fun!
